Special guest Russ Schleipman will present a precious telescope known as the Porter Garden Telescope. This amazing telescope is fashioned after the famous Porter telescope created in 1920s by Mr. Russell Porter, head designer of Hale Telescope at the Palomar Mountain Observatory. Fred Schleipman, engineer, avid astronmer and the father of Russ Schleipman sought to recreated the Porter Garden Telescope by featuring the latest in optic science to bring the heavens down to Earth. The original Porter telescope is in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian . Mr. Russ Schleipman will be discussing the creation of this amazing piece of technology and the Lunar Eclipse.
